LLS Paleis, Antwerp, 2020
A durational work in which I make a new daily chalk composition in LLS Paleis, as
a performative action, for eight consecutive days. After researching the history of
the city, the neighbourhood, the building, its surroundings, and social connections,
and atmosphere, I developed a series of compositions based on what the building
was previously used for, how people move through the space, and its relation to its
surroundings. This includes references to road markings, letter shapes, parts of
letters and choreographic scripts as a kind of mapping of the area in response to
the audience present during performances.
