NDSM-Werf, Amsterdam, 2020

Chalk markings act like a language or mark-making system, made in response to the use
and rhythms of outdoor and indoor spaces of NDSM Wharf. While being non-directional
and non-instructional, the markings give a new reading of the otherwise almost unmarked
areas used freely by pedestrians, bikes and cars. Referring to desire lines as informal
pathways created through the intuitive use of a space over time, the chalk lines fade over
time as people move over them.
